The journey began 25 years ago, when our founding team—fresh out of university—quickly discovered a frustrating truth: there was no such thing as “off-the-shelf” software. Companies would invest heavily in software, only to spend even more on custom development to make it fit their business. After countless hours and significant expense, the result was rarely a perfect fit, often leaving businesses with clunky, heavily customized systems that were difficult to manage and risky to modify. The inevitable result? Legacy software that eventually had to be replaced, restarting the cycle.

We asked ourselves: What if there was a better way? What if the true experts—those who understand their business inside and out—could define their own solutions without relying on developers? This idea led us, 18 years ago, to create Aquarium Software, a leading claims and case management software that empowered users to configure their own workflows without writing code.
